Do you smile with confidence?
Do you have loose or missing teeth?
Do you have loose and uncomfortable dentures?
A confident smile and a healthy mouth are important assets. Some people
reach a stage in their life when they realise that their teeth no
longer do them credit.
There used to be only two ways to replace missing teeth; a bridge
attached in some way to adjacent teeth, or a removable denture.
Bridges require drilling away much away much of the natural tooth
or rely on adhesives that can eventually wear out. Dentures have changed
little since the early 1900s - some people find dentures obtrusive
and find it embarrassing that they are removable. They may also affect
speech and perception of taste.
Sometimes the traditional solutions are still appropriate
but
now there is another option!
Dental
Implants are small titanium screws that are carefully placed in
order to provide anchorage for fixed teeth, or to retain loose dentures.
They can be used to replace single teeth, several teeth or even a
complete set.
Dental implants are usually placed with a local anaesthetic,
by for more anxious patients, this can be supplemented with intravenous
sedation. All treatment is carried out here at Edgar Buildings Dental
by our highly trained team.
